"Siren Eyes" Is TikTok's Version of '90s Supermodel Eye Makeup

Tik Tok has graced us with so many makeup trends and product recommendations (like the re-emergence of skin tints, the popular "sunburn" blush placement, and some of the best color-correctors I've ever used). Many of these product recommendations and trends have changed my makeup game entirely—or at the very least, inspired me to try something new. Some of them, though, seem to be new interpretations and discoveries of old classics.

Take the resurgence of Clinique's Black Honey Lipstick ($22) for example. This lipstick has been around for decades, but it just recently went viral on Tik Tok. Another good example is the "clean girl" makeup aesthetic. While the name of this trend could be considered problematic, it's arguably just a new interpretation of the standard "no-makeup makeup" look.

Wholesale Replica Bag makeup trend to sweep across Tik Tok is a modified version of something we all know and love—'90s supermodel eye makeup. The trend, which has been dubbed "siren eyes" is being recreated by the platform's top beauty influencers. Celebrities like Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, and Zendaya are in on it, too. Keep scrolling to get all the deets on this trend and shop the best products for recreating it.

For reference, here's a picture of Naomi Campbell in the Dior Ready to Wear Spring Summer 1992 show. Her eye makeup is smoky and sultry, and the shadow has been flicked up at the end, creating a cat eye shape. I would argue this is pretty similar to the siren-eyes trend that's going around TikTok right now, which is all about creating an upturned, elongated shape with eye shadow and eyeliner—whether it's sharp and graphic or slightly softer and more subtle.

The Modern Take

Like I said before, celebrities are in on the trend, too. And, actually, they're partly responsible for fueling its popularity. One of the icons of the siren-eyes trend is Megan Fox. She's made this kind of sultry cat-eye makeup her standby, although her take is more subtle than others (notice the lack of eyeliner on her lower lash line).

Bella Hadid has been wearing exaggerated cat-eye makeup for years. This picture is the perfect example of the trend, which involves lining the eyes with dark liner from the inner corners all the way to the outer corners before flicking up and out. (This is the bolder take on the trend.)

Zendaya wore her take on the siren-eyes trend to this year's Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. Her look is sharp and graphic, thanks to the expert placement of silver shadow in her inner corners and the middle of her eyes.

Emily Ratajkowsi attended the Balenciaga Haute Couture show wearing her version of siren eyes. The trick is to line the eyes all the way to the inner corners (and down and around to the lower lash line as well). It gives the eyes a prominent, piercing look.

Vanessa Hudgens proves that siren eyes are best accentuated with a set of fluffy lashes.

Leave it to Kylie Jenner to be an early adopter of a TikTok-famous makeup trend. I love how her eye shadow is expertly blended out to and above the wing.

Khloe Kardashian is yet another celebrity to try this trend. As you can see, her eyes are lined all the way around, and there's even a swipe of black eyeliner on her waterline. This is a critical step when re-creating this trend, as it helps create a sharper, more defined shape.

Do as Joan Smalls does, and direct your wing towards the tail of your brow. This will compliment your eye shape and also create a sharp and precise line, which is just what you want when re-creating this look.
