These $30 Editor-Approved Trousers Will Be the Foundation of Your Fall Wardrobe

Black trousers are a forever staple, no question about it. Regardless of your personal style (they can be dressed up or down), age (can you say timeless?), or budget (I think you'll find the below styles wallet-friendly), we're convinced that a classic black trouser deserves a place in everyone's wardrobe because, well, it works for everyone.

Since we love a good wardrobe basic, we went ahead and designed our own version. Well, four different versions, to be exact. If you're not familiar with our Who What Wear line already, our Skinny Ankle Pants ($30) are one of the staple items we've had in our collection since day one. So today we're excited to introduce four new iterations of these classic trousers, each one with stylish new updates that make them look even fresher. Oh, and we had our editors test-drive the styles and report back.

Ready to dive in? Ahead, discover these four new pant styles, see how our editors style them, and read their reviews.

Style #1: Skinny Pants with Pockets

"The quality of these pants was surprisingly better than one would expect; they look like polished designer pants you'd buy just about anywhere else, and the fabric is nice. I only struggled with the waist being a bit looser than anticipated, but it was nothing I couldn't style around." — Jasmine Fox-Suliaman, audience engagement editor

"TheseBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing Collection pants aren't normally my style, however, I found them easy to incorporate into my wardrobe as they're a classic cut and can be dressed up or down depending on your mood. I opted for dressing them up with a pleated Tibi blouse and sandals for a polished yet comfortable work-from-home look." — Fox-Suliaman

Style #2: Modern Pull-On Skinny Pants

"I've been living in padded tees and jeans but when I want to feel a bit more polished, I've been slipping into this pair of black trousers. The pants have a slightly relaxed fit, so they're super comfortable, but they're also tapered through the leg for the perfect fit. Add an easy pair of slingbacks and it's the easiest way to instantly feel pulled-together." — Kristen Nichols, senior editor

Style #3: Wide Waistband Skinny Pants

Find a comfier pair of dressy trousers—I'll wait. My first thought when I tried these on was how nice the material is. It has a bit of stretch in it so they feel ultra-comfy but thanks to the quality fabric they don't look it. They feature a wide pull-on waistband which makes them feel just as easy to wear as any pair of leggings while elements like the front seam and slightly cropped hem ensure they look polished.

I styled these with an oversized Tôteme blazer, a basic black top, and simple mules for a look that's easy to recreate over and over again and makes for the perfect base to fun accessories and jewelry.

Style #4: Pintuck Skinny Ankle Pants

"These pants have officially become my new favorites. The stretch they have provides the utmost comfort and they provide the perfect silhouette for pairing with oversize blazers or shirts which I tend to wear a lot of." — Lauren Eggersten, senior fashion editor
