Southern Girls Are Going Crazy Over This Boot Style
Sponsor Content Created With Frye
While we're constantly looking to our friends overseas for fashion inspiration, let's not forget about the incredible style right outside our front doors. We've teamed up with Frye and three uniquely fashionable women from different cities around the U.S. to share their fresh take on all-American style. Our first fashion girl gave us her L.A. perspective, and now we're heading down south to our country's music capital, Nashville.
If you've ever been to Nashville, then you know it's a must-visit destination for several reasons, from the diverse music scene to the culinary experience (we're drooling just thinking about the fried chicken) to the unique street style. Thanks to the city's laid-back environment, the fashion we're seeing has a casual, cool urban vibe with just a touch of Southern influence. One of the women whose feeds we can't stop scrolling through for style inspiration? Nashville local Tiffany Mitchell of Offbeat + Inspired, who says her "cozy and feminine" style is greatly influenced by the creative community she lives in.
Want to take a closer look at the trendy city? Ahead, Mitchell shares her go-to look for fall and spills on a few favorite local must-sees.
When we asked Mitchell to describe American style, she candidly tells us that it involves dressing in anything that's as close to sleepwear as possible. (So that explains why pajama-style tops have hit basically every store we shop in lately.) Since she's often going straight from meetings to late dinners with her girlfriends, her day-to-day outfit is just a bit more pulled together, like this breezy dress-and-sweater pairing.
The shoes she's most likely to wear with her more casual outfits are her heeled leather boots—they add that polished touch without being too dressy. "I think these are the perfect complement because they're structured and timeless, which balances out a cozy ensemble so well," she says of this fall-ready pair.
"Many filmmakers, photographers, designers, and chefs have settled in Nashville after leaving the bigger cities," Mitchell tells us, "so there's a lot of cultural influences that translate into the fashion too." She actually finds that trends make their way to the Southern city fairly quickly—food included. Some of her favorite must-visit foodie spots are Peninsula, Cafe Roze, and Sam Zoe's, a quaint coffee shop she often works from.
For busy workdays that take her all over Nashville, an oversize shoulder bag is key. She loves this one from Frye because it can be held by the shorter strap or worn on the shoulder for an easy on-the-go look.
Mitchell loves the texture and pop of warm color that her sweater adds to her cozy style. Want to make the look a bit more professional? "Add a skinny leather belt at the waist to give the dress some shape," Mitchell advises.
