With summer on the horizon and temperatures finally rising here in the UK, it's time to pack our heavy items away and bring out our breezy, breathable fabrics. And at the top of my warm-weather must-haves? Linen. Whether I'm heading to lunch with friends, going into the office or off on a weekend getaway, linen trousers are comfortable, easy to style and look incredibly chic. But for us petite women, finding that perfectly fitted pair is not so simple.

If you're 5'3" and under like me, you've likely tried on many pairs of linen trousers that pool awkwardly around your ankles. And with the lightweight fabric only being practical for only a few months every year, it seems unnecessary to have every pair of linen trousers you buy tailored professionally. As someone who is all too familiar with this dilemma, I decided to take a stroll through my local high street to find the best linen trousers for petite women, and I was not disappointed.

From flattering wide-leg silhouettes to playful culottes, I managed to find seven pairs of petite-friendly linen trousers that you can wear now and well into late summer.

The Best Linen Trousers for Petite Women, According to an Expert

1. COS Linen Culottes

Style Notes: COS's Linen Culottes are ideal with a bare ankle, allowing you to show off your anklets and gorgeous summer shoes. In the picture above, I'm wearing them on my waist, but you can pull them down a little if you want a bit more length. They have an elasticated waist, which I love; who wants to be dealing with uncomfortable buttons pressing into their tummy when it's boiling and there's a spritz of some sort to be drinking? I also love this beautiful blue shade.

2. Free People Day's End Linen Pull-On Trousers

Style Notes: These trousers are so comfortable and super lightweight. They're a little sheer, so that's something to keep in mind, especially with the ivory pair I'm wearing here. I tried them a little higher up on my waist, and this made them the perfect length. This pair also has an elasticated waist, and I think they'd be the perfect summer-holiday trousers for the beach during the day and into the evening.

3. Massimo Dutti Linen Straight-Leg Trousers

Style Notes: This pair from Massimo Dutti make me want to book a safari trip asap. They're the perfect shade of green, plus the material is breathable and lightweight. They have an adjustable waistband with a drawstring, so you can wear them on your waist or hips, depending on your height.

4. Arket Cropped Linen Trousers

Style Notes: Arket linen is some of the best on the high street, and this pair of cropped trousers is one of my all-time favourites. They're not only a great length for my shorter legs, but unlike a lot of other white linen trousers on the market, the fabric isn't too sheer. In true Arket fashion, these come in a few different colours, so there's something to suit everyone's taste.

5. Rixo Iveta Linen-Blend Trousers

Style Notes: The floral hem detailing on Rixo's linen-blend trousers is so beautiful and very on trend for summer 2025. More of a culotte than full-length, these are a little on the short side, but I love them just the same. The neutral colour will be so easy to style with everything you already own, and it lends a classic touch to an otherwise "trendy" trouser, ensuring wearability.

6. H&M Tapered Linen-Blend Trousers

Style Notes: You could wear these linen tailored trousers to the office just as easily as for a day out in town. They have a great tapered silhouette and finish at the perfect length for us vertically challenged folk! Although they have a more tailored finish, they also have a button and zip fly and are elasticated at the back, making them extremely comfortable. The black pair I own is currently sold out, but I also love the neutral colourway.

7. Boden Westbourne Linen Trousers

@chiarasatelier wears Boden's blue and white stripe linen trousers, a white t-shirt, cream jumper, pink Chanel ballet flats and black sunglasses

Style Notes: Nothing says "holiday" quite like blue-and-white stripes, and these Boden trousers are exactly that. What I love most about the brand is that it makes trousers to accommodate every height (petite, regular or long). I got the petite version, and they're the perfect length for me. These trousers also have a button and zip fastening with an elasticated back, so they're super easy and relaxed to wear.
