From puffers to practical totes, it seems as though the last year has pushed utility to the forefront of our minds, and it shows no sign of shifting. Chunky boots are another key addition to the form-meets-function line-up, and this season, brands have been expanding their offerings with fresh styles that add a new dimension to this wintry staple.
MATCHESFASHION.COM reported an impressive 73% growth in boot sales this year, with rubber boots, in particular, becoming a focus for A/W 21—in no small part thanks to the platform and tread-sole styles seen at Valentino, Bottega Veneta and Loewe. This wellington-inspired knee-high boot has certainly gained traction across the board and cropped up on the high street at the likes of Marks and Spencer, Arket and Other Stories. Our top tip? Add a pair to your favourite summer dress, and see it become autumn-ready.
