Kate Just Changed Into Chanel and the Most Epic Headband

Dressing for sombre state occasions must surely require a great deal of thought. There's no getting around the fact that the outfit decisions of royals have been documented for decades, and events such as today's Remembrance Sunday demands a deep level of understanding, respect and attention. Occasion ensembles often have to adhere to many rules, and Kate Middleton, has become a fantastic figurehead for being a smart, elegant and respectful dresser.

Hosted at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, central London and from within Westminster Abbey, the commemorations of our commonwealth's servicemen and civilian contributions to both World Wars and later conflicts saw many members of the royal family gather in unison to pay their respects.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been impressing us recently. She has been flying the flag once more for rewearing her investment pieces (such as this lilac Emilia Wickstead dress, and her favourite green gown) and is making some more daring, fresh fashion choices. See the velvet pumps she's favouring instead of those classic nude courts or the bold colour she wore to Meghan and Harry's wedding.

Today, Middleton's look nodded to the military focus of the proceedings, as she choose a navy tailored coat with a band collar, epaulettes, gold buttons and a neat contrast waistband. I would place bets on this smart coat being Alexander McQueen, but I'll try to confirm soon. In the meantime, see Kate's outfit choice below as well as what she wore for last night's Festival of Remembrance.

Oh, and don't forget to look at the Chanel coat and headband she chose to wear for the evening service at Westminster Abbey.
