Fashion Insiders Can't Get Enough of This High-Tech Skincare Brand—Our Beauty Editors Approve

Eleanor Vousden
When it comes to the best skincare brands, there are very few that I would spend my hard-earned cash on. As a beauty editor, I've been lucky enough to receive some of the most luxurious skincare offerings on the market, including some of the best cleansers, best toners and best serums out there, and I can safely say that there are only a handful of products that I would repurchase again and again. Funnily enough, most of those products are from the same brand—SkinCeuticals.
If you're unfamiliar with SkinCeuticals, let this be your formal introduction. Fashion insiders and celebrities love this brand, and I guarantee that every beauty editor in the world has some of these products on their bathroom shelf. Sienna Miller and Hailey Bieber both count themselves as fans, and the entireBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing UK beauty team uses SkinCeuticals products every single day.
You'll find SkinCeuticals products on every beauty insider's shelf.
You're probably expecting some fancy packaging and formulas infused with ingredients such as 24k gold, right? Well, that's where you'd be wrong. You see, this brand is science-led and results-driven, and each product has been formulated with specific skincare concerns in mind. So, if you have problematic skin like me, you're probably going to want to give the brand a go.
The only catch? Each product comes with a premium price tag to match the premium formulation. Yes, Skinceuticals products are an investment, and while I would never recommend spending a ridiculous amount of money on skincare (there are plenty of effective, affordable skincare brands out there), if you are looking to invest in some new luxury products, I know the ones that are worthy of their price tags.
Junior beauty editor, Grace Lindsay, testing out SkinCeuticals products.
Below, I've rounded up my top SkinCeuticals picks, and I've also asked my fellow beauty editors to share the products that they swear by. So, if you want to know what's really worth the splurge, I highly recommend that you keep on scrolling...
The Best SkinCeuticals Products, Tried and Tested by Editors
- Best SkinCeuticals cleanser: SkinCeuticals Blemish and Age Defense Cleanser
- Best SkinCeuticals serum: SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Vitamin C Serum
- Best SkinCeuticals moisturiser: SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2
- Best SkinCeuticals eye cream: SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Advanced Eye
1. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Vitamin C Serum
Best for: A radiant complexion
Why It's the Best: This is SkinCeuticals' best seller and most-loved product by far. It's an antioxidant serum with vitamins C and E and ferulic acid, which means that it helps to combat environmental damage from pollution and day-to-day life. It has a 15% formulation of vitamin C, which helps to brighten pigmentation as well as address any fine lines. It's considered one of the best vitamin C serums of all time (if not the best). It is great all-rounder for all skin types and has a water-like consistency that sinks into the skin, making it great under makeup, too. But honestly, this product is so good you might find that you want to forgo makeup. There isn't a beauty insider I know who hasn't been wowed by its ability to leave the skin brighter and more radiant. It does come with a steep price tag, but if you want to invest, you won't find a better antioxidant serum.
Who What Wear Editor Review: "As a beauty editor, if there is one expensive serum that I would save up to buy with my own money, it would be SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic. This powerhouse antioxidant serum is brimming with L-ascorbic acid (a supercharged form of vitamin C), vitamin E and ferulic acid. Together, they work wonders to brighten and even out your complexion, fading sun damage while boosting that coveted glow. What's so great about it is that, as well as shielding your skin from environmental damage in the long term, it also bestows an immediate glow as soon as it comes into contact with your skin. I've tried many vitamin C serums (and many imitators of C E Ferulic), but I always come back to this as nothing else quite compares. There's no wonder so many skincare experts always recommend it," says Who What Wear UK beauty editor, Eleanor Vousden.
For
- Combats environmental damage
- Adds a radiant glow
- Sits well under makeup
Against
- Very expensive
2. SkinCeuticals Blemish and Age Defense Cleanser
Best for: Blemish-prone and oily skin
Why It's the Best: If you have oily or blemish-prone skin (or both) and are looking for a cleanser to get rid of excess sebum and dirt, this gel formula will be your new best friend. It contains glycolic and salicylic acid to help with exfoliation, prevent blemishes and brighten the skin. Similar to the product above, your skin will be glowing after using this.
Who What Wear Editor Review: "I have battled cystic acne for years, and although most of my breakouts are hormonal, my experience is that my choice of cleanser also plays a key part (more so than any other product). This stuff really means business. It contains a combination of glycolic and salicylic acid to both clear pores of congestion, bust dead skin cells and boost radiance and glow. When used just once in the evening (it’s too intense for twice-daily use), it is, hands down, the most effective cleanser I’ve ever used for oiliness," says Who What Wear UK beauty director, Shannon Lawlor.
For
- Removes excess sebum and dirt
- Exfoliates the skin
Against
- Could be a little stripping for dry skin types
3. SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2
Best for: Stressed out skin
Why It's the Best: If your skin is compromised or stressed—think red, inflamed or irritated from overuse of skincare products—then SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore is a worthy investment. It contains lipids and ceramides, which act to repair a broken skin barrier, giving your skin a fighting chance to repair. This moisturiser also helps to prevent moisture loss, leaving you with a plump, soft and radiant complexion.
Who What Wear Editor Review: "I experience eczema flare-ups from time to time, so I like to keep a pot of this on standby. Its texture is indulgently thick, creating a protective barrier over the skin. It's particularly good if you have dry skin or want to add a protective layer to your skincare routine during the harsh weather in winter," says Who What Wear UK beauty editor, Eleanor Vousden.
For
- Repairs the skin barrier
- Thick, creamy texture
Against
- Might not be great for oily skin types
4. SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Advanced Eye
Best for: Dry under-eyes
Why It's the Best: If you're looking for a rich, hydrating eye cream that will help reduce fine lines and dark circles, look no further. This clever product contains a trio of powerful ingredients, including proxylane, peptides and glycyrrhetnic acid. Peptides and proxylane work together to help reduce fine lines and plump the skin, while glycyrrhetnic acid works to brighten the under-eye area.
Who What Wear Editor Review: "I'm fussy when it comes to eye creams, but my skin can't get enough of this SkinCeuticals formula. It has the most gorgeous, thick, creamy texture that sinks into the skin and leaves your under eyes feeling so soft and smooth. While I haven't been using it long enough to confirm whether it has any long-term benefits, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a soothing and nourishing formula," saysBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing UK junior beauty editor, Grace Lindsay.
For
- Nourishing formula
- Hydrates the skin
- Pot is easy to travel with
Against
- Very expensive
5. SkinCeuticals Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier
Best for: Dry skin
Why It's the Best: Hyaluronic acid is responsible for maintaining your skin's moisture and hydration levels. If you find your skin is often dry or dehydrated, you might find that any lines or wrinkles are exacerbated. If that's you, then you'll benefit from this addition to your skincare routine. It contains a potent concentration of hyaluronic acid, which not only hydrates your skin but also helps plump out crow's feet and fine lines for a smooth skin texture.
Who What Wear Editor Review: "I was really impressed with how bouncy and visibly plump my skin was after a couple of weeks of using this, and my sensitive skin felt more resilient, too," says Who What Wear UK beauty editor, Eleanor Vousden.
For
- Features a potent form of hyaluronic acid
- Leaves skin looking plump
- Suitable for all skin types
Against
- Very expensive
6. SkinCeuticals Silymarin CF
Best for: Oily and blemish-prone skin
Why It's the Best: This is one of the slightly more recent additions to SkinCeuticals' line-up of antioxidant serums. This one is formulated for oily, acne-prone skin types, so if you find that you experience breakouts or have excessive oil, this is the better option to go for. It contains spot-busting salicylic acid and silymarin, which work to help reduce excess sebum production and stop oil from oxidising on your skin, which can lead to premature ageing.
Who What Wear Editor Review: "I was recommended this serum by a dermatologist, and it's honestly one of the best serums I have ever used. I have very oily skin, but my complexion always feels more balanced when using this. My skin looks a lot clearer, too. One thing I will say is that it does have a bit of a funny fragrance, but apart from that, I can't fault it," says Who What Wear UK junior beauty editor, Grace Lindsay.
For
- Balances oilier complexions
- Helps reduce breakouts
Against
- Not the best fragrance
7. SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Hyaluronic Acid Serum Gel
Best for: Irritated or sensitive skin
Why It's the Best: The Phyto Corrective Hyaluronic Acid Serum Gel is formulated for irritated skin or sensitive skin types that are prone to blemishes. If you find that typical acne products are too harsh on your skin, then you might find this more suitable. The gel-like consistency is cooling on application, and the formula is oil-free, so it won't feel heavy on your skin or contribute to any further breakouts if you find that oil tends to break you out. It also contains hyaluronic acid to leave the skin plump and hydrated.
Who What Wear Editor Review: "When I first got my hands on this product, I couldn't get over the bright green formula. However, after testing it out, I can confirm that this colour disappears as soon as the serum is blended into the skin. I love this product as it is super refreshing, and my skin always feels so calm and cool after using. It's also very hydrating, so it's perfect if your skin is feeling a little dry and irritated," says Who What Wear UK junior beauty editor, Grace Lindsay.
For
- Refreshing formula
- Leaves skin feeling calm
- Very hydrating
Against
- The colour may be a little off-putting at first
8. SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.3 Corrective Treatment
Best for: Uneven skin texture
Why It's the Best: Retinol is one of the few ingredients proven to reduce signs of ageing, and SkinCeuticals' is highly regarded as one of the best. If you're a retinol beginner, this percentage is a great place to start with a 0.3% formulation. Alongside retinol, it also features chamomile-derived bisabolol to help counter irritation. This product helps to address fine lines, discolouration, blemishes and pores by accelerating cell turnover, leaving your skin looking brighter, more even and smoother. As with all retinol use, be sure to wear an SPF every day and gently build up from using this once a week as your skin acclimatises to retinol. Less is usually more effective at the start to avoid irritating your skin too much.
For
- Good formulation for beginners
Against
- Could cause irritation if not used correctly
9. SkinCeuticals Ultra Facial UV Defense SPF50 Sunscreen Protection
Best for: Dry and combination skin
Why It's the Best: It's estimated that between 80% and 90% of ageing is caused by UV rays. That's not just days spent on holiday but UV exposure that we encounter every day, even if it's cloudy and we're sitting near a window inside. It's a scary thought, right? Therefore, using a good SPF daily will help protect your skin from ageing and, more importantly, the sinister effects of the sun. SPF can be a faff to wear, though, but SkinCeuticals' formula is lightweight and sits nicely underneath makeup. I'd say this is ideal for dry, normal or combination skin types, as it has a creamy, moisturising formula. Plus, it's formulated with clever UV filters that work to prevent UV-induced collagen breakdown and hyperpigmentation.
For
- Lightweight formula works well under makeup
- Formulated with clever UV filters
Against
- Might not be best for oily skin types
10. SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Best for: All skin types
Why It's the Best: This hydrating, gel-like serum contains a combination of vitamin B5, which helps repair the skin barrier, and hyaluronic acid, which intensely hydrates the skin. This is a great everyday hydrating serum to use after cleansing and before applying your moisturiser and is suitable for all skin types. If you want an extra hit of hydration, you can even mix it in with your daily moisturiser too.
Who What Wear Editor Review: "I'm prone to oiliness during the summer, and the gel formula sinks straight in, so I'm not left with any residue," says Who What Wear UK beauty editor, Eleanor Vousden.
For
- Super hydrating
- Suitable for all skin types
Against
- Expensive
11. SkinCeuticals Phyto A+ Brightening Treatment
Best for: Hyperpigmentation
Why It's the Best: This moisturiser has been designed to treat dark spots and redness associated with hyperpigmentation. It contains azelaic acid and arbutin, which help to balance the skin and leave your complexion brighter and even-toned. The soothing formula has a hydrating yet non-greasy formula, so is suitable for oily and blemish-prone skin.
Who What Wear Editor Review: "Not so long ago, I visited a clinic where the practitioner told me I have rosacea—and I had no idea. Having sensitive yet oily skin, which is also prone to breakouts, sensitivity, and uneven skin texture, I was recommended this product. And I can attest that it really does it all. It contains azelaic acid, which is great for calming redness, while alpha arbutin helps to reduce discolouration and post-acne scarring. It also helps smooth uneven skin texture and comes in a lightweight texture that won't clog pores and sits very well on my oily skin. Since using it, I've noticed less redness, fewer breakouts and a smooth skin texture overall," says Who What Wear UK beauty editor, Eleanor Vousden.
For
- Soothing formula
- Evens out your complexion
- Smooths skin texture
Against
- More of an investment
