6 Outfit Ideas I Love for the Easter Weekend, Whatever Your Plans Are
When I think of Easter dressing, I envisage copious muted pastel hues, floral prints and dainty accessories one would wear to a family affair—namely roast dinners, egg hunts and church services. The look reflects the hopeful season, brighter days ahead and the emergence of summer. The injection of colour is much welcomed after the moody colours of winter. Last season’s dopamine dressing has paved the way for bolder, statement choices this summer. However, for a long weekend spent outdoors with friends and family, I'm gravitating towards classic, muted outfits and comfortable separates.
It’s nearing the time when we can show more skin without quivering, and April dressing is all about transitioning into lighter, breathable fabrics that are soft to the touch. As for colours, it's all about the soft hues you'll find nestled amongst a packet of mini eggs—think sweet pastels, rusty oranges and apple greens. Also, off-white and neutral ensembles are always a good idea (as long as you’re not too clumsy).
If you’re not really one to dress up, I’ve included some pieces to lounge in at home too while you’re watching your favourite feel-good films and making your way through endless Easter eggs. (Why do they taste so much better than regular chocolate?) On the contrary, there are also options if you’re hoping to venture out for some quality time with loved ones.
We’re spoilt for choice at this time with a smorgasbord of styling options. There’s raffia, open-toe sandals and the simple pleasure of wearing winter knits as outerwear after finally ditching that puffer coat. It’s all in the mix-and-match, and that is something to truly embrace. These are some outfits I think are perfect for Easter.
1. Easter Egg Hunts and a Countryside Stroll
Style Notes: This sweet dress encapsulates the tentative arrival of summer. It’s the perfect garden piece whether you’re going for a romantic country stroll or Easter egg hunting with little ones. I enjoy cotton pieces paired with natural fibres, so the jute bag with this dress is truly a match made in heaven. Not to mention it’s perfect for stowing away Easter eggs. Classic strappy slip-on sandals look great with billowy dresses, but better still, integrate this year’s lace-up sandal trend for a real bohemian look.

2. If You're off to a Church Service
Style Notes: A knitted midi paired with boots is a good look for any formal occasion. It’s modest and comfortable, and you’ll look put together with very little effort. This Baserange number ticks all of the boxes. Paired with these Paris Texas statement boots, it makes an otherwise casual outfit feel sophisticated. Knee-high boots have their place in spring too, particularly for the evening and formal wear.

3. Watching Films and Lounging at Home
Style Notes: Let’s be honest—the best thing about this time of year is lounging, and having something comfortable to do that in is a real luxury. That’s where the two-piece comes in. Loungewear sets can be worn styled up or down, so they’re a considered purchase. With cosy slippers, I can’t help but foresee myself on a countryside staycation with a blazing fireplace, talking with loved ones to my heart’s content. If the opportunity to go outdoors arises, pop on a coat and boots.

4. Hosting Easter Lunch
Style Notes: I’m welcoming sage green with open arms this season. Tuck the shirt into the trousers, and wear it with heels. The best thing about wearing heels at home is that your slippers are never far out of reach. You can swap them for trainers and bundle up if you’re going for a local outdoorsy jaunt.

5. A Casual Pub Lunch
Style Notes: If a casual family or friends lunch is on the agenda, this tonal top-and-bottom duo makes for a pared-back look. Teamed with the raffia mules, its comfort meets just the right amount of formal and a slight nod to summer with the woven accessory. Wear with gold chunky jewellery.

6. From A.M. to P.M.
Style Notes: I’m seeing white, cream and ecru more frequently in the place of black. It’s a safe bet to liven up looks for those of us who favour neutrals. Tuck this knit into the skirt, and wear it with low block heels to make your look a little less casual. The denim skirt is having a moment, but this year, it’s a couple of inches longer, which makes for an elevated look. This knit, featuring an exposed back detail, complements the A-line shaping of the shirt, as it enhances the silhouette that bit more.
