I Tried on So Many Low-Key Autumn Pieces From Mango—I Loved These 10
Welcome to The Great Try-On. With autumn well and truly in the air, we seized the opportunity to try on some of the best new-in pieces from some of your favourite brands, documenting the process along the way. We believe that the best way to shop online is to see an item IRL and to read candid reviews, so we hope that this leads you to your most successful purchases on the year.
While I'm often adding Mango pieces to my wardrobe and I always have its items on my wish list at any given time, I can only recall ever stepping foot in a Mango store once in my life, believe it or not. (Truth be told, I can count on one hand the number of fitting rooms I've stepped foot in over the past year, period.) That's the beauty of online shopping, folks. I don't even live in a city that's anywhere near a Mango store anymore, so my fitting room is my house.
Something I hear from people time and time again is that they prefer to shop in stores because they "have to see it"—referring to an item they're interested in before buying it. I get it, but it's not always possible or convenient, and I choose not to limit myself to only the brands that are available at brick-and-mortar stores in my city. I'm here to offer you the next best thing to "seeing it". I chose a slew of new fall items (of which there were a lot to choose from) to try on from Mango and documented it all along the way.
Scroll to see what my favorite items actually look like on (for reference, I'm 5'4") and read my honest reviews. And of course, I've linked them below so you can order them too if I've done a good job of convincing you.
Mango Oversized Cotton Trench
My review: Nice trench coats can be very expensive, so I jumped at the chance to try this more accessibly priced one. I loved the oversized fit of this one as you could easily fit a sweater or even a blazer under it. It's the perfect thing to pack for autumn trips.

Mango Printed Textured Dress
My review: This is one of those items that doesn't really live up to its full potential until you put it on, as it just sort of molds to you (without being clingy). The fabric isn't very thick but add a long coat and boots and you have a very chic autumn outfit.
Shop the Printed Textured Dress:
Mango Reverse Knit Jumper
My review: If you like jumpers that are warm without being bulky, you can't go wrong with this one. It's trendy without being over-the-top and isn't itchy in the least. I imagine I'd throw this on with jeans often.
Shop the Reverse Knit Sweater:
Mango Pinstripe Suit Blazer, Waistcoat, and Trousers
My review: This suit is epic. I loved the fit of each piece—nice and modern and relaxed, so it didn't give off banker vibes in the least. I paired it with sneakers but it might be even better with heels since I'm on the short side. That said, I didn't hate the puddle pants look. If I were just going to buy one piece I think it would be the vest, but there's no denying that the full suit is perfection.
Shop the Pinstripe Suit Blazer, Waistcoat, and Trousers:
Mango Short Leather-Effect Jacket
My review: At £60, this jacket has great price-per-wear potential, as I think it would get a ton of use. It would work on its own as a shirt or as a light fall jacket. If you want a great on-trend outfit idea, pair this with a white tank top and long denim skirt.
Shop the Short Leather-Effect Jacket:
Mango Slit Denim Skirt
My review: This skirt comes in several different washes but I wanted to try the black as it's the most versatile. I found this length to be a lot more easy-to-wear than the maxi-length denim skirts I've seen a lot of this season. It's super high-waisted so I plan on wearing it with cropped sweaters this fall.
Shop the Slit Denim Skirt:
Mango Striped Turtleneck Jumper
My review: Mango has so many good pink sweaters right now that I couldn't decide on just one. I loved this one for its classic-with-a-twist vibe. And like the other pink sweater I tried, it's cozy without being bulky. The boxy shape of it is just right.
