If there’s one thing that unites style icons, it’s their shared love of blazers. From Fran Lebowitz’s signature pinstripes to Jane Birkin’s française-anglaise checked styles and Kate Moss’s satin-trim rock’n’roll iterations, this tailored staple is a constant presence in these oft-imitated wardrobes.
Blame it on their Savile Row undertones, innate sense of polish or the fact they’ll add a structured element to any ensemble they’re featured in, blazers have become somewhat of the modern staple for women.
Speaking to Helle Them-Enger, the co-founder of resortwear-infused womenswear label Faithfull the Brand, she explains that chic dressers who gravitate towards this silhouette are drawn in by their “wearability, effortlessness, efficacy, and also how they inspire a sense of confidence and style.”
“We are always inspired to evoke a sense of summer—but we also want to ensure our pieces can lift from vacation wear to everyday wear,” she says about the persistent inclusion of blazers in Faithfull’s new collection.
“We have found in designing what we call ‘soft tailoring’, we are able to create timeless designs that our customers can style for both a balmy evening and after-work cocktails,” Them-Enger adds.
“Our [blazers] have really resonated with our customers because of their versatility in styling and in wear, so we are inspired to build upon our original pieces and continue to offer new shapes that our customers can explore.”
This year, especially, it’s resoundingly clear that discerning shoppers are after blazers that deliver more than just a sharp shoulder, clean line and refined layer. The spring/summer 2026 season featured an abundance of styles on the runway, from Dario Vatale’s oversized and candy-coloured Versace versions, which were cut close to the body to evoke a sort of Milanese yuppieness, to Michael Ryder’s casually cosmopolitan and subtly equestrian styles for Celine.
“The modern woman is ever evolving and ever changing, and it is important to find pieces that can adapt to her lifestyle,” Them-Enger notes, acknowledging the wide variety of blazers currently available on the market. But the point remains: every wardrobe is made better by having a blazer in it.

1. Reformation James Relaxed Blazer
Style Notes: Reformation is like catnip for cool girls, and after trying on this James blazer, I understood exactly why the brand has garnered this reputation. After slipping into this style, I was immediately impressed by how polished this look felt without trying too hard. Striking that perfect balance between structured and soft, this is a piece that would enhance any outfit it’s paired with and, better still, blend seamlessly into any ensemble it’s a part of. (Which is an extremely rare feat!)
With slight padding through the shoulders, this jacket really is a wonder find in the way that it can elevate both a satin mini skirt you’ll wear to a cocktail bar or the joggers you’ll wear to an airport. As for technicalities, the material is a mix of crepe and regenerative polyester, featuring three single buttons down through the middle and two front pockets. It is one of the pricier styles available; however, when compared to the other styles from brands like The Frankie Shop and Rohé, you’ll actually realise that, for quality and versatility, this is far worth the price point.
Shop the Look:
Fit: Designed to have a relaxed fit throughout.
Sizes: XXS - XL
Material/s: A heavyweight crepe fabric with a dry hand made from 71% Naia Renew™ Acetate and 29% Polyester.
Colour/s: Black and grey herringbone.
Pros
- A completely oversized and casually cool shape, that still has a touch of structure.
Cons
- Sizing can seem a bit skewiff, especially if you're an XS or an XL.
2. Mango Suit Jacket With Scarf
Style Notes: The definition of a sartorial fundamental, a black blazer is a classic wardrobe item that has adapted well to the evolving needs of its wearers without compromising on its essence. Calling back to classroom days and boardroom players, the formality and versatility of a black blazer is what makes it the only starting point, should you be building your arsenal of jackets from scratch.
What piqued my interest about this Mango option was that it boasted all the characteristics of a traditional black blazer, but ever-so-slightly eschewed them to make it feel modern and fresh. Case in point: the asymmetrical button and boxy shoulder pads. This style is fitted through the torso, so if you have bigger breasts like I do, I would recommend sizing up as it can feel a bit tight across the chest. (This can also make buttoning up the style slightly awkward as the fixture is hidden on the inside of the piece.)
The blazer also features a tie-up scarf detail, but I did find the material slightly slippery, as the band kept coming undone. If this were the main selling point, I would be a little vexed, as it also doesn’t come with belt loops to hold it up. In saying that, I found the material to be really high quality and incredibly durable, even for a piece made from polyester.
Shop the Look:
Fit: Suit style with a fitted design, V-neck lapel and tie-up scarf fixture.
Sizes: XS - 4XL
Material/s: 100% polyester
Colour/s: Black, white and red.
Pros
- One of the most accessible pieces on the market, given the wide size range.
Cons
- Slightly finicky to do up, also the scarf tie-up detail doesn't hold as well.
3. Other Stories Tapered Blazer
Style Notes: With darts through the middle and a single-breasted finish, this mocha chocolate-coloured blazer from Other Stories is the epitome of contemporary tailoring. Designed to look like it’s sculpted to your form, this piece is perfectly proportionate at any size, courtesy of its oversized shape, albeit a close-cut shape.
This brown shade really cocoons your body and offers a nice contrast to the stronger black hues that usually dominate this category. This piece also came with a matching pair of trousers, which is perfect for those who want to emulate a sort of Diane Keaton-esque breeziness. (For the unaware, Other Stories makes the perfect pair of high-waisted, high-street trousers, so if the option’s there to pick up the matching bottoms, I’d always recommend.)
The blazer is also offered in a gorgeous mole colour, which is an underrated neutral I feel never gets enough airtime, so make sure you also take note of that piece as it’s equally enviable, in my opinion.
Shop the Look:
Fit: Crafted from twill, this blazer features a subtly tapered waist and structured shoulders.
Sizes: EU 32 - 44
Material/s: Acetate 73%, Wool 27%
Colour/s: Dark brown and mole.
Pros
- Boasts refined design details, like a discreet welt pocket at the chest, that make it look more premium.
Cons
- The front pockets aren't entirely functional.
4. Massimo Dutti Short Linen Blend Jacket
Style Notes: Collarless blazers have quickly become one biggest trends for 2026, with styles like Aligne’s Bonnie blazer and Reformation’s Morning Doug jacket sweeping the sartorial zeitgeist. Chanel’s spring/summer 2026 collection was arguably one of the most visible examples of this, with newly-incumbent creative director Matthieu Blazy ushering in an era of box-cut blazers that lack a lapel.
All this to say, that when I saw this Massimo Dutti number hanging on the rack, I was immediately interested to try out the trend. Though it doesn’t feature any fastenings to hold it together, making it somewhat more of a shawl, I simply loved the look of this draped over my shoulder. (Though I can imagine even the smallest gust of wind would affect how it sits.) Opting for a slightly bigger size, I found the style so slouchy and casually cool, especially when paired with these blue jeans and red-and-burgundy-striped top.
Shop the Look:
Fit: With an undulating and curved silhouette, this jacket is fluid, effortless and elegant.
Sizes: XS - L
Material/s: Linen 64%, Polyester 35%, Elastane 1%
Colour/s: Mole.
Pros
- Perfectly balanced between slouchy and sophisticated.
Cons
- Doesn't feature any buttons to hold the blazer together.
5. Reformation Caden Blazer
Style Notes: With the ‘80s making a triumphant comeback for 2026—be it through Saint Laurent-esque shoulder pads, the resurgence of peplums, puff-ball bubble skirts, lurid florals or Dario-Vitale-for-Versace pop-art colour palette—it felt only right to try on this Caden blazer from Reformation.
With a body-conscious fit, double-breasted buttons and protruding volume around the hips, the piece feels like something you’d easily see Melanie Griffith wear in Working Girl, meaning that any investment bankers or finance girls amongst us—or perhaps just fans of Industry—can revel in a design that’s both corporate-approved and appropriate for the weekend. The waisted silhouette also evokes the feeling of Dior’s iconic Bar Jacket, making it the perfect accompaniment for both maxi skirts and, if you take your cues from Jonathan Anderson, pleated minis and denim jeans.
Shop the Look:
Fit: With a cinched waist and curved hips, this piece is architecturally perfected at every stitch.
Sizes: XXS - XL
Material/s: This is a heavyweight crepe fabric with a dry hand made from 71% Naia Renew™ Acetate and 29% Polyester.
Colour/s: Black, grey and houndstooth.
Pros
- Really flattering in providing the illusion of an hourglass outline.
Cons
- This piece tends to be on the smaller size.
6. Aligne Daphne Waisted Blazer
Style Notes: Single-button fastenings have swiftly become one of the in-demand blazer trends, so when I was compiling this list, I knew I had to include Aligne’s beloved version. With fans of the cut including Grace Van Patten, Sophie Turner and Emma Stone, this iteration has become one of the most popular shapes on the market for women looking for a jacket that’s a little more sculpting.
Featuring a cosy feel and stretchy fabric, this is a blazer that could easily double as a top, given how thick and durable the material is. Because of that, it’s not the best outerwear style I’ve ever come across, given that you could only really style a tank top or a piece of heat tech underneath it. However, the billowing sleeves—which are a design that became popular after Destree put it back on the map—and scoop neckline mean the style has quite an intrinsic regal and sophisticated look, meaning that you would want to show off this style anyway.
Shop the Look:
Fit: Designed in London, this piece features ponte curved sleeves and slightly tapered waistline.
Sizes: UK 4 - UK 22
Material/s: 71% Tencel Modal, 25% Polyamide, 4% Elastane
Colour/s: Black, navy and oxblood.
Pros
- Available in a whole gamut of sizes.
Cons
- The ballooned sleeves can feel a little Victorian era for some tastes.
7. COS Double-Breasted Wool-Twill Blazer
Style Notes: Of all the high-street mainstays, COS is one of the most reliable haunts for tailored basics. It’s not rare to walk into one of the brand’s stores only to walk out armed with elevated white t-shirts, pleated trousers and of course, blazers. This piece is a new style for the label, featuring micro double-breasted buttons, exaggerated ‘70s-style lapels and patchwork pockets that take up a majority of the space through the front.
The wool-twill fabric was really breathable, which is such a nice quality to have in blazers, considering how heavy they can sometimes look. I didn’t personally love how the style looked when paired with the matching trousers, so I would be hesitant to buy both and wear them as a suit. However, I’d happily wear this taupe jacket with pinstripe shirts and other billowy trousers, like the beloved Portia pants from Melbourne-based brand Henne.
Shop the Look:
Fit: Crafted from premium wool twill, this blazer is cut in a streamlined shape and features exaggerated lapels, patch pockets and a double-breasted close.
Sizes: EU 32 - 44
Material/s: 100% Wool
Colour/s: Taupe.
Pros
- Natural fibres are always a hallmark of impeccable tailoring.
Cons
- Slightly cropped, so taller torsos might have to opt for a bigger size.
8. Mango Straight Blazer With Front Stitching
Style Notes: From the cover of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan to being spotted on the shoulders of Kendall Jenner and Dakota Johnson, a suede blazer is never far out of reach for the most stylish. (And yes, I’d put the 84-year-old folk musician in that category, too.) This Mango style is truly a delicious offering, with the leather fabric not only pleasing to the touch but also incredibly lightweight and movable.
What I adored most about this style was the subtle stitching imprint along the edges, which gave this piece a handmade feel. Talk about a future heirloom in the making. It’s considerably expensive given you’re picking this piece up on the high street, but after investigating the quality, touch and wearability, I firmly back this as a piece you’ll own for years to come. Talk about a future heirloom.
Shop the Look:
Fit: Paired with the matching suede trousers, this single-breasted suede blazer fits relaxed through the body, providing the basis for chic and minimalist ensemble worth reaching for time after time.
Sizes: XS - XL
Material/s: 100% leather
Colour/s: Mocha brown.
Pros
- This piece is the real deal, given it's made from 100% authentic leather.
Cons
- Suede is notoriously hard to upkeep, so you'll find yourself fussing over this to ensure it stays fresh and clean.
9. Faithfull The Brand Ida Knot Blazer Latte
Style Notes: If the spirit of Saint Tropez or the allure of the Venice lagoons beckon you, then this cropped blazer from Faithfull is one to have on your radar. With puffed sleeves and a collarless design, this is the kind of piece that will channel the essence of breezy and beachy European alcoves, whilst simultaneously suiting the demands of a bustling city life.
Speaking to Them-Enger about the design, she explains that most of their blazers “feature subtle cinching through the waist, but we were excited to lean into the ‘oversized’ trend and create a piece that is intentionally designed to hang effortlessly off the body.” Speaking about the specific features of this style, she explains that the brand has observed “a shift towards more collarless blazers, which is another design trend we have nodded to.” Whether worn with jeans and a strappy sandal or the matching shorts under the setting sun in some tranquil Balearic island.
Shop the Look:
Fit: Whilst the style I've featured here is actually an exclusive look that won't be stocked till March, this is a similar style that features all the same laissez-faire elegance and balmy appeal as the cropped version.
Sizes: XS - XL
Material/s: 52% Viscose, 25% Tencel, 15% Rayon, 8% Linen European Flax® OEKO-TEX®️Standard 100 Certified
Colour/s: White
Pros
- Despite being cropped, it's still quite conservative in terms of coverage.
Cons
- This is a style more suitable for warmer months, though you can certainly style it with a turtleneck come winter.
