20 Genius Ways to Layer From Stockholm Fashion Week Street Style

Could the small but mighty Fashion Week Stockholm give New York, London, Milan and Paris a run for their money? I travelled approximately 5500 miles from Los Angeles to find out. Three days and over a dozen shows later, I'm convinced that the Scandinavian city's fashion scene will only get bigger and bigger—and command more and more attention in the industry.

There was no shortage of action at the F/W 17 shows this season, from Rodebjer's lively, colour-filled collection to Johan Lindeberg's return to his namesake brand after a 10-year hiatus. But outside, the stellar street style was hard to ignore (in the chilly 30-degree temps, no less)—and Swedish photographer Anna Mårtensson captured all the best action.

Everyone from blogger Hannah Stefansson to editor Darja Barannik turned up in their chicest looks for the event. Mårtensson is particularly a fan of Barannik's style: "It's effortless and just perfection in front of the camera," the photographer toldBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing .

Mårtensson also expounded on the typical Swedish girl's style: "I would say Swedish style is comfortable, often quite classic, but with a twist," she told us. "Colour schemes are often dark, especially in the winter months, but then they might add a colourful pop with accessories, like shoes or one eye-catching statement piece. I'd also say Swedes are quite fond of sporty aesthetics. Comfortable and cool!" Isn't that the ultimate combo?

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
