I Know I Can Always Rely On This British Perfume Brand to Earn Me Endless Compliments

When it comes to purchasing a new perfume, a lot of us tend to turn to French fragrance houses as we know we can rely on them for expensive-smelling scents.
From Chanel and Dior to Maison Francis Kurkdjian and Diptyque, there are so many French brands out there that offer a range of chic fragrances. However, I feel like British perfume brands are often overlooked when in my opinion, they create some of the nicest scents out there. From Jo Malone London to Penhaligon's, some of my favourite fragrances of all time are from iconic British brands. However, there's one name in particular I know will always earn me compliments, and it may surprise you.
Burberry may be best known for its iconic trench coats, but it released its first fragrance in 1981 and has created several excellent perfumes over the years. Beauty editors love them, and now, so does TikTok. Many people claim that Burberry fragrances are some of their most-complimented scents, and as an editor, I'd have to agree. I've had lots of them in my collection for a while now, and people always ask me what I'm wearing whenever I do. In fact, I get so many questions that I thought it was only right to round up the best Burberry perfumes out there so that you can try some for yourself. Keep on scrolling for my top picks.
Do Burberry Perfumes Last?
One thing I get asked a lot is if Burberry perfumes last. It's hard to give a definite answer, as it can vary from scent to scent depending on the notes, but one thing I love is that the brand tends to follow up its most popular scents with more intense iterations. So, if you like an impactful perfume that will linger all day, I highly suggest checking out these fragrances.
Now, without further ado, the best Burberry perfumes to add to your collection.

The Best Burberry Perfumes, as Chosen by a Beauty Editor
- Best Fruity Perfume: Burberry Her
- Best Gourmand Perfume: Burberry Her Elixir
- Best Vanilla Perfume: Burberry Goddess
- Best Warming Perfume: Burberry Goddess Intense
- Best Fresh Perfume: Burberry Her London Dream
1. Burberry Her
Key Notes: Blackcurrant, blueberry, raspberry, jasmine accord, violet accord, white woods, musk and dry amber.
This perfume has become somewhat of an icon thanks to TikTok. After seeing all the online hype, I had to try it out for myself, and I wasn't disappointed. Now, if you don't like sweet scents, this won't be for you, but if you're into fruity florals, I highly recommend giving this a go. It's a super warm, sugary, feminine and youthful fragrance, which opens with notes of blackcurrant and raspberry before drying down to a sensual base of amber and musk. I'm yet to meet anyone who doesn't like this.
2. Burberry Her Elixir
Key Notes: Strawberry, blackberry, jasmine, vanilla, amber and sandalwood.
Her Elixir is a richer version of the original Her, and is perfect for those looking for a statement scent. Notes of strawberry add even more fruitiness, whilst the addition of vanilla gives this gourmand fragrance a creamier base.
3. Burberry Goddess
Key Notes: Vanilla and lavender.
Speaking of vanilla, let's talk about Burberry Goddess. Another fragrance that has taken social media by storm, this scent features a trio of vanilla notes. Again, this is a gourmand fragrance, so if you don't like sweet scents, this won't be for you. That being said, it is an incredibly sophisticated take on a vanilla-based scent, and the addition of lavender gives it even more depth. It's beautifully warm and sensual, and spritzing it feels like wrapping up in your favourite cashmere jumper whilst enjoying a hot vanilla latte.
4. Burberry Goddess Intense
Key Notes: Vanilla, vanilla wood and lavender.
Goddess Intense features a fourth vanilla note to make the fragrance even more addictive. The original notes are amplified by vanilla wood, which adds a warm, smokey edge. Whereas Burberry Her is more of a summer scent, Goddess is my go-to for winter date nights. If you want endless compliments, then this is the perfume to go for.
5. Burberry Her London Dream
Key Notes: Lemon, ginger, rose, peony, musk and amber.
Perhaps I'm biased because I live in London, but I'm a big fan of Burberry's Her London Dream. This fragrance stands out from the rest thanks to opening notes of lemon and ginger, which give it a fresh, invigorating aroma. To me, it perfectly captures the exciting feeling of visiting the city for the first time.
