I'm 5'3" and Think Zara's Jeans Are the Best on the High Street
In days gone by, Zara was not the place to shop if you were shorter than average. It used to be a running joke that you'd have to be a supermodel to wear the brand's trousers. But over the past few years, something has changed, as Zara’s now one of the best places to shop for jeans on the high street. It all started with a pair of blue cropped flares I bought three years ago. Not only do I still wear them, but I also find that I always get compliments on them. Then, this summer, I found the perfect pair of culottes—they fit great and feel good.
Now, I know what you're thinking: I've only gone for the cropped styles, so of course they're going to fit. But ever the intrepid investigative journalist, I decided that a bigger sample was needed, so I tried on more pairs to see whether I was right. Spoiler alert: They were all flattering, comfortable and pieces I'd want to keep in my wardrobe for a long, long time. Keep scrolling to see my verdict on every pair of Zara jeans I love and then shop the jeans below.
CROPPED FLARES
The verdict: These are my own cropped flare jeans that I've worn so many times they're wearing out. But in my opinion, that's exactly what you want with jeans. You can shop cropped flares, but if you want the full-flare option, I've picked one of my favourite styles below.

BAGGY JEANS
The verdict: Honestly, I know I look a bit like a pirate, and quite frankly I don't care. These are so comfy, look great with biker boots and will work with a slouchy jumper too. These got the most compliments from my colleagues.

COLOURED JEANS
The verdict: I've been thinking about these cargo/jeans hybrid for a while, and I'm sold. I love the high waist, and the legs are a little shorter. The colour isn't too khaki either, so it's less utilitarian. Zara also has camo, tie-dye and iridescent jeans if you're feeling super fancy.

STRAIGHT-LEG JEANS
The verdict: Classic straight-legs could have been such a problem for me—we could have definitely veered into the "too long" territory. Happily, that was not to be, as these straight-leg jeans fit perfectly. Another winner.

WIDE-LEG JEANS
The verdict: These white jeans weren't just about the colour, but about the legs too. I love how wide these are, as not only are they comfy and great for walking in, but they're flattering too. My preferred styling is with a white shirt and black boots.
